Hi, I’m Marine!

I have been working at Arc international for almost 12 years. I help design innovative product ranges in response to the needs of our consumers, as part of a team of creative people of all kinds.

As a child, I used to transfer the postcards I received for birthdays, St Catherine’s Day and other events. Any occasion is for me a pretext to draw and scribble in a notebook or on a corner of the table.

Why did you choose this job?

My training in stained glass some fifteen years ago led me to adopt a creative approach based on colour, transparency and the superimposition of images.

I particularly appreciate the possibilities that glass offers from a technical and stylistic point of view, the creation of patterns and the association of colours are multiplied by the infinite characteristics of this material.

The work we do in terms of researching inspiration, styles, graphic identities and atmospheres leads us to define trends in line with the evolution of society and the life styles that characterise it.

Which trend will you talk about today?

I’m excited to talk to you today about the Audacious trend.

Luminarc is a Made in France brand, and our products have been manufactured in the north of France for many years now. Made in France is a value that we feel very strongly about and that we promote because it’s very important. We also like to partner with brands that promote this value.

Today, we’re going to tell you about a partnership we’ve set up and a 100% Made in France recipe that you can reproduce at home and that will please everyone at any time of day!

The Marcel et Jean X Luminarc partnership

In May, we were lucky enough to partner with the Marcel et Jean brand.

What is this brand?

Marcel est Jean is a Made in France apron brand that was created in 2017. Their aim is to bring back to life the famous apron that our mothers all used to cook in or do the housework, and to produce it locally to give it a new meaning.

They are responding to a real problem: today, it is very difficult to find Made in France accessories for the general public and professionals. Aprons are in every kitchen, but 98% of the time they’re made on the other side of the world. So what could be better than to be able to cook with Made In France crockery and, to become an outstanding chef, put on a Made In France apron. That’s the aim of this partnership!

And if we wanted to go all the way, why not cook a 100% Made in France product using French ingredients. So here’s the recipe for the famous bread to make at home:

French bread

This recipe is an easy bread recipe to make at home that will rival any bakery.

You will need

• 500 g flour
• 300 ml water
• 1 sachet baker’s yeast
• 2 teaspoons salt

Preparation :

1. Mix the flour, yeast and water in the bowl.
2. Knead for 15 minutes (by hand or in a food processor). 
3. After 15 minutes, the dough should stick to the kneading trough. If necessary, you can add more water or flour. 
4. Pour in the salt while kneading for another 15 minutes. The dough should be smooth and elastic. 
5. Set the dough aside in the bowl and cover with a clean tea towel. Leave the dough to air for 2 hours. The dough should double in volume.
6. Once the dough has risen, knead it on a clean, floured work surface. Deaerate the dough by pressing down hard with your fist.
7. Gather the dough into a large bread ball.
8. Brush with flour.
9. Place the bread ball on a baking tray covered with a baking sheet. Leave to rest for another hour. If you want a moulded loaf, you can put the dough in an ovenproof dish.
10. Preheat the oven to 250°C and draw fine lines on the top of the bread with the blade of a knife.
11. Sprinkle the flour over the bread and place in the oven. Leave to bake for 25 minutes. The bread should be golden and crisp.

Now all you have to do is enjoy it for breakfast, lunch, dinner or a snack. The whole family will love it, and what’s more, it’s 100% Made in France and home-made.

I’m Léonie, I joined Arc three years ago and I’m product manager for storage. I look after products for both professionals and private individuals.

If I had to describe myself, here are 3 goals that determine me:

Determined: to set myself objectives, to respect schedules in order to be rigorous. To get things done, by being efficient.
Creative: always looking for a way to differentiate myself, both in the creation of products and in the way I put them forward (communication, customer presentation, animation, etc.)
Flexible/Dynamic: being adaptable on a daily basis, both in professional and personal life. Always being busy at 100km/h is my hobby! Boredom is not for me.

Why did you choose Luminarc?

Luminarc is 200 years of French know-how, with a rich glass-making heritage. It’s a brand that knows how to evolve with market trends, that is chic while being “affordable” for the general public.

My job as a product manager is to :

Managing the product portfolio, from conception to final product development and marketing. I design my ranges, draw up the product specifications, monitor its development and production, and participate in the development of sales tools and communication.

What I enjoy every day 💚:

It’s days that are not like each other! You discover, learn and are enriched on a daily basis by the skills and know-how of the employees and teams I work with. It’s a job that touches on everything! I also really enjoy the international dimension; the challenges are different and rich. My products too! Trendy products, in tune with the times, which respond to environmental issues. 🍃🍃

Hello, I’m Emilie!

I’ve been drawing since I was a little girl, so it’s not like I’m going to end up making a living out of it one day.

It was like an evidence, as a child I created many games, invented crazy jobs as a star-gatherer or a researcher of fantastic animals, that I drew of course. I love color more than anything, it’s my religion. A little bit of slack, I repaint this wall in green, in purple, in terracotta and here I go again, happier than ever!

I’m an optimist, humanist, traveler, life is beautiful and even more so in color. 😁

In my work, I put my expertise of 20 years of creation at the service of all, color harmony, personalized design, the beautiful must for me be accessible to the greatest number. Luminarc products are designed to make your life easier and more beautiful, that is the essence of my job.

Trends are obviously very important for the development of our collections. We work as a team, compiling the results of our observations and research. We are always on the lookout for new trends in the world of interior decoration, but also in fashion, equipment, catering, etc. We skim blogs, trend newsletters, trade shows, exhibitions, ….. It’s almost a reflex for us designers as fashions change, evolve or renew themselves.
